IRT SAINT-EXUPÉRY

Stand: 44

Activity

The IRT Saint Exupéry, a technological research institute and science accelerator, is working on the direct printing of electrical and electronic functions on 3D parts. These functionalized parts contribute to the simplification of systems and offer access to new available surfaces. Printing on complex shaped parts with a wide range of materials (especially those sensitive to temperature such as polymers and composites) required specific adjustments: in order to follow the 3D profile of the parts, the processes used were integrated on six-axis robots. The control of the print head (speed and position relative to the substrate) is based on a prior 3D scan of the object, then on algorithmic processing.
